New Patch Test

Signs of aging like fine lines, thinning lips, puffy eyes and dark circles seem to get worse every time you look.

What if you could stop covering and improve trouble spots instantly?

The solution may be as plain as a patch. Dr. Ranella Hirsch is on the board of the American Society of Cosmetic Dermatology and Aesthetic Surgery. She says the delivery concept makes sense.

The patches help trap moisturizing ingredients in the skin. But do they produce results?

We asked dermatologist Dr. Diane Walder to oversee a test of three popular brands.
Joey New York's patches for plumping lips and contouring cheeks and two different eye patches promising to reduce dark circles, puffiness and fine lines. One by Chanel, the other by Talika. All promise results in a single treatment.

The women left the patches on for 10 to 30 minutes. Both the Talika and Chanel eye patches initially showed some promise.

But neither tester saw any change in their puffy eyes or dark circles.

Neither did Dr. Walder. As for the Joey New York products promising to to plump lips and contour cheeks, the tester didn't see any change.
